Doug Puerta

Doug Puerta has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Doug is currently the CEO of Stack Metallurgical Group since April 2018. Prior to this, Doug worked as a New Venture and Global Business Advisor at Queen's University from September 2012. From October 2016 to October 2018, they served as the President of ASM International's Thermal Spray Society, where they facilitated information exchange and scientific progress in the thermal spray industry. Doug also worked as an Operations Manager at Precision Castparts from May 2017 to April 2018, overseeing the manufacturing of turbine engine castings. Doug held the position of Director of Aerospace Product Qualification Testing U.S. at Element Materials Technology from December 2014 to January 2017, managing multiple product qualification laboratories. Prior to that, Doug was the Vice President of Materials Testing at Curtiss-Wright Surface Technologies from March 2012 to November 2014, where they secured major contracts in the aerospace, medical device, and nuclear industries. Doug gained experience in laboratory management as the Laboratory Director and Technical Director at IMR KHA - Portland from 2008 to 2012. Before that, as the Director of Metallurgical Engineering at IMR Test Labs from 2002 to 2008, Doug oversaw the metallurgical engineering operations. Doug began their career as a Sales Engineer at Buehler, Ltd. from August 2000 to October 2002, focusing on metallographic sample preparation equipment and supplies. Doug also worked as an Engineer at Pennsylvania Metallurgical, Inc. from June 1998 to August 2000.

Doug Puerta received their BA in Chemistry from Franklin & Marshall College in 1995. Doug then pursued their MS in Materials Science & Engineering at Lehigh University from 1995 to 1997. In 2007, they enrolled in the Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management and Queen's University, where they obtained their MBA in Business from both institutions in 2009.
