Rory Alsop

Rory Alsop, FCIIS, currently serves as Head of Tesco Bank Information Security and Cyber Risk at Barclays UK since November 2024, following a role as Head of Information Security and Cyber Risk at Tesco Bank from June 2021 to November 2024. Alsop has been a Fellow and Scottish Chair of the Chartered Institute of Information Security since January 2008, including terms as Chairman from 2008 to 2014 and again in 2019. Additional leadership roles include Deputy Chair of the Information Security Forum, Co-Founder and Director of Security B-Sides MSP, and a board member of the National Cyber Resilience Advisory Board. Alsop's contributions to the security community extend to being a security moderator for Stack Overflow and a SOC Goon for DEF CON. As a musician, Alsop is the lead guitarist and pyrotechnician for the techno-rock trio Metaltech. Education includes a BEng in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from The University of Edinburgh.
