Amir Vakili

Amir Vakili, Ph.D., is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in cryptography and software development. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer at StackAdapt since February 2025, Amir previously worked at Amazon Web Services as SDE III focusing on AWS Cryptography from September 2022 to December 2024. During the tenure at Amazon, Amir contributed to the Amazon Corretto Crypto Provider and developed web services based on psychometrics for Amazon Assessments. Prior to Amazon, Amir held the position of Senior Software Engineer at Huawei, leading projects in privacy-preserving applications and cryptographic protocol verification. Academic experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Waterloo, where Amir analyzed cryptographic protocols, as well as teaching a course on logic in software engineering. Amir holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, complemented by a Master's degree from Sharif University of Technology and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Tehran.
