Bob Dean has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering and autonomy. Bob started their career as a Software Engineer at Motorola Semiconductor, working on software design and implementation for embedded systems. Bob then joined General Dynamics Robotic Systems, where they served as the Industry Intelligence Lead & Software Architect for the RCTA Program, an Army Research Laboratory initiative focused on Human Robot Teaming. Bob later became a Senior Autonomy Engineer at Uber Advanced Technology Group, where they worked on large-scale autonomy behavior projects and served as a Technical Lead Manager. Bob also had roles at Aurora, ISO - International Organization for Standardization, Stealth AV Startup, and Stack AV, where they specialized in software engineering, safety systems, and autonomy. Throughout their career, Bob has demonstrated expertise in cross-functional collaboration, architecture design, and implementing fail operational system architectures.
Bob Dean attended Carnegie Mellon University from 1994 to 1999, where they obtained two Bachelor of Science degrees. Their first degree was in Computer Science, while their second degree was in Electrical & Computer Engineering.
