Nic Eggert

Nic Eggert is a Staff Software Engineer at Stack AV since November 2025, previously serving as a Principal Engineer at Target from October 2015 to October 2025, where significant contributions included designing GPU compute infrastructure for machine learning, leading the development of an MLOps platform that dramatically reduced model deployment time, and advancing consistent practices across multiple teams. Earlier roles included Principal AI Scientist and Lead Data Scientist at Target, where Nic innovated in computer vision and deep learning, enhancing product recommendation algorithms and automating occupancy tracking during the Covid pandemic. Prior experience as a Senior Engineer at Seagate Technology focused on failure prediction models and data visualization, while earlier academic work included postdoctoral research at Cornell University on particle physics experiments. Nic holds a PhD in Physics from Cornell University and a BS in Physics from the University of Minnesota, graduating summa cum laude.
