Rien Quirynen

Rien Quirynen is a Staff Software Engineer at Stack AV, where they lead trajectory generation efforts for autonomous (L4) trucks. Prior to this, Rien served as a Principal Research Scientist at Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories and held a position as a Research Scientist at MERL from 2018 to 2020. Rien's academic background includes a PhD from KU Leuven, where they conducted joint research on numerical simulation methods, and they also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Freiburg. Earlier in their career, Rien gained experience through internships and summer jobs, including work on NMPC models and algorithm development.
