Shanis Windland

Shanis Windland has a diverse range of work experience in various companies. Shanis most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer at Stacklok since January 2024. Prior to that, they held the role of Board Member at Starform, starting in December 2022.

Shanis spent a significant portion of their career at VMware, where they held multiple executive positions. Shanis served as the Vice President of Human Resources from August 2021 to January 2024. Before that, they held the position of VP of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion from December 2018 to August 2021, where they focused on ensuring DEI initiatives were rooted in business outcomes.

Before their tenure at VMware, Shanis served as the CFO at Heptio from January 2017 to December 2018. In this role, they led finance, HR, and operations, built financial and operational systems, managed fundraising, and oversaw the sale of the company to VMware for $550M.

Shanis also held the position of Vice President of Finance at Z2 from 2012 to 2016, where they led the sale of the company to King Digital for $150M, managed finance, accounting, and tax matters, and acted as the primary liaison for due diligence and merger agreement negotiations.

Shanis began their career at Big Fish Games, where they held roles such as Director of Financial Accounting and Assistant Controller. At Big Fish Games, they oversaw various accounting functions, led system implementations and reporting initiatives, and managed the annual audit process.

Prior to Big Fish Games, Shanis worked as an Accounting Manager at Demand Media in 2007-2008.

Throughout their career, Shanis has demonstrated strong financial management, operational leadership, and expertise in mergers and acquisitions.

Shanis Windland has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Central Washington University. Shanis also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Texas at Austin. In addition, they are a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through the Washington State Board of Accountancy in 2006.
