Joao M. Ceron

Joao M. Ceron is a seasoned professional in computer networks and network security, with extensive experience spanning over a decade in various roles. As a Postdoctoral Researcher at Universiteit Twente from April 2018 to March 2020, Joao focused on topics including DDoS attacks, botnets, and IoT malware. Prior to this, Joao served as a Security Analyst at NIC.br / CERT.br from August 2010 to April 2018, investigating computer incidents impacting the Brazilian Internet. Joao has held positions at several prominent organizations, including Security Analyst roles at Rede Acadêmica do Rio Grande do Sul and UFRGS, and has experience in network security engineering at ProtonMail and as SOC Tech Lead at Nubank. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos and a PhD in Computer Engineering from Universidade de São Paulo.
