Carlos Mendez

Carlos Mendez has extensive work experience in the plastics industry. Carlos started their career at Husky Injection Molding Systems in 1993, where they worked as a Mold Project Engineer for five years before transitioning to the role of Sales Project Manager for Latin America. In this position, they were responsible for evaluating applications, estimating prices for turnkey systems, and managing projects for plastic injection molding. Their areas of expertise included closures, thinwall containers, pails, and cutlery.

After leaving Husky, Mendez joined Weatherchem Corporation in 2003 as the Chief Tooling Engineer. Here, they oversaw plastic injection molding tooling projects for dispending closures applications and managed the in-house tooling shop. Carlos worked on new mold projects, conversions, and refurbishments.

In 2006, Mendez joined Rexam as a Sr. Tooling Engineer. Their responsibilities included managing plastic injection molding tooling projects for closure applications, both domestically and internationally. From 2011 to 2020, Mendez worked at Milacron as a Plastics Systems Engineer - Co-Injection Sales LATAM. Carlos focused on direct sales of Plastic Co-Injection systems in Latin America, with applications in oxygen, carbon dioxide, and light barrier containers primarily for the food and beverage industries. In addition to sales, they also handled applications engineering, turnkey production systems configurations, estimations, and other product management duties.
