Bogaert Dirk

Bogaert Dirk serves as the kabinetschef bij de Schepen van Natuur en Groen, Werk en Sociale Economie, Gelijke Kansen en Sport at Stad Gent since 2025, having previously held a similar role focused on milieu, klimaat, energie, Noord-Zuid, landbouw, en dierenwelzijn from 2014 to 2025. They were also a directeur at Vlaamse Overheid from 2008 to 2014, overseeing communication at the Agentschap voor Natuur en Bos. Prior to that, Bogaert worked as a senior onderzoeker en docent at Universiteit Gent from 2005 to 2008, leading projects in nature and environmental policy. They began their career as a lector at Arteveldehogeschool, contributing to various research initiatives in the same field from 1989 to 2009. Bogaert holds a master’s degree in cultuurwetenschappen from Universiteit Gent and a doctorate in managementwetenschappen from Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen.
