Els Aerts

Els Aerts is an accomplished communication professional with a diverse background in journalism and public engagement. Starting as a journalist at Gazet van Antwerpen from August 2001 to August 2003, Aerts gained experience in various editorial roles before becoming the editor-in-chief at De Tijd with Mediafin from September 2003 to September 2006. Aerts then served as the coordinator of international policy, communication, and projects at Literatuur Vlaanderen from January 2012 to February 2021, promoting Flemish literature and comics internationally. Currently, Aerts holds the position of consultant for external communication at Stad Lier, focusing on transparent and community-friendly communication. Aerts holds degrees in Germanic Languages and Literature, journalism, and communication management.
