Mike Young

Mike Young is the current Director at Standard Uranium and has held various other positions in the past including Board Member at Minerals Council, Non Executive Director at Cycliq, and Managing Director and CEO at Vimy Resources Limited.

Mike has been instrumental in developing the protocols for COVID-19 (Wuhan Flu) that allowed the mining industry to stay open. Mining's contribution to the Australian economy and human development is second to none.

At Vimy Resources Limited, Mike recapitalised the company by bringing on a major shareholder in Forrest Family Investments and retiring the debt by converting it to equity. Mike also rebadged the company, calling it Vimy Resources Limited in a tribute to the famous Canadian victory in 1917.

Under Mike's leadership, Vimy also acquired the Alligator River Uranium Project in the Northern Territory. Vimy is now fully permitted to begin mining operations and will achieve “substantial commencement” by the end of 2021.

Mike Young completed a BScHon in Geology at Queen's University and then went on to graduate from Regiopolis Notre Dame HS in the field of General Studies.
