Mike Freiling

Mike Freiling is an experienced professional with a diverse background in data science, advisory roles, and academia. Currently serving on the Advisory Board at StandardC since August 2022 and as the Executive Director of Shimenawa no Michi since January 2020, Mike has established a strong leadership presence. A Data Scientist at Conceptrics AG since 1995 and an Adjunct Professor at Portland State University, Mike specializes in data mining, IT, and e-business management. Prior experience includes roles as a Business Analyst/Data Scientist at NICEActimize from 2012 to 2020, Director of Fraud Management Practice at Bridgeforce, Inc. for a year, and various positions including presenter at the Business Rule Forum and Credit Systems Analyst at Washington Mutual. Mike holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Luce Scholar in Artificial Intelligence from Kyoto University, and a BS in Computer Science from the University of San Francisco.
