Carl Foster has worked in the biopharmaceutical industry since 1989. Carl began their career at Merck and Astra Merck as Director of Business Development. In 1997, they joined Ferghana Partners as Partner and Managing Director. In 1998, they took on the role of Managing Director at Intracel, Inc., where they developed and commercialized an autologous cell therapy called OncoVax to treat colon cancer. In 2000, they moved to Oxford GlycoSciences as Senior Vice President of Business Development. Carl then joined King Pharmaceuticals as Vice President of Business Development in 2004, Praecis Pharmaceuticals as Vice President of Business Development in 2003, and Jurilab as Chief Executive Officer and Vice President of Strategic Alliances in 2005. In 2010, they became Executive Vice President of Business Development at Cempra Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and in 2017, they became Chief Executive Officer at BioAssets International. Most recently, in 2022, they took on the role of Chief Business Officer at Standigm, a leading artificial intelligence (AI) drug discovery company.

Carl Foster attended the University of Kansas from 1983 to 1987, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. Carl then attended the same university from 1987 to 1989, earning both a Master of Arts in Biochemistry and a Master of Business Administration in Marketing and Finance.
