Ava Castanha

Ava Castanha is currently an Environmental Planner at Stantec, where they apply their curiosity and innovative approach to address pressing environmental issues. Having studied Conservation and Resource Studies at UC Berkeley, Ava developed a broad understanding of the interplay between economic, political, and societal systems and their impact on the environment. Previously, they held various roles including Scientific Aid at the State Water Resources Control Board and Honors Research Fellow in the Fung Fellowship at UC Berkeley. Ava has also contributed as an Environmental Science & Policy Editor for The Leaflet and has interned with organizations like InfoNile and the USDA Agricultural Research Service. Their diverse experiences reflect a strong commitment to environmental stewardship and problem-solving in the field.
