Dean Staples

Dean Staples is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in digital innovation and technology leadership. Currently serving as Vice President and Director of Innovation Business Opportunities at Stantec since May 2023, Staples previously held the position of Digital Innovation & Agile Discipline Executive at Manitoba Hydro from 2022 to 2023. Staples' tenure at Microsoft Canada from 2016 to 2021 involved strategizing technological adoption of cloud solutions for enterprise customers. Prior experience at Bell spanned 14 years in various leadership roles, including Head of Corporate Innovations, where Staples advanced large-scale digital programs, and Converged Services Lead, responsible for cross-platform technology adoption. Early career accomplishments include serving as Creative Director of Advanced Technology and Innovation at Nortel Networks, where Staples directed research in Smart Mobility and ICT. Educational background includes degrees from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management, RRC Polytech, and the University of Manitoba.
