Derek Piitz

Derek Piitz is an experienced GIS Analyst currently working at Stantec since October 2022, having previously held the same title at Dynamic Risk Assessment Systems, Inc. from November 2020 to October 2022. Derek began his career at Stantec as a GIS Technician from March 2018 to October 2020 and worked as a Customer Solutions Specialist at geoLOGIC systems ltd. from May 2017 to March 2018, as well as a GIS Technician at Cook Leach Surveys for a brief period in early 2017. Derek holds a Master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems from the University of Calgary, obtained in December 2022, a Bachelor of Applied Technology in Geographic Information Systems from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology completed in 2018, and a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Earth Science, Geology from the University of Waterloo, earned in 2014.
