Eric Plapper

Eric Plapper, AICP, is a Principal and Senior Associate at Stantec since December 2022, focusing on zero emissions planning and managing a variety of electric vehicle community readiness and fleet transition projects. Prior to Stantec, Eric served as a Program Manager/Professional Associate at HDR from December 2016 to December 2022, where contributions led to a promotion on the officer track due to technical excellence in connected and automated vehicle, intelligent transportation systems, and electric vehicle projects. Eric has experience managing a multimodal emerging technology portfolio across over 20 states, overseeing strategic planning and infrastructure deployment. Earlier career roles include a Research Associate at Battelle, where involvement in a $40 million Smart City grant effort was pivotal, and various planning positions at the Ohio Department of Transportation. Eric holds a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor’s degree in History from Connecticut College, along with a GIS certificate from Columbus State Community College.
