Gwen Macdonald is an ecological restoration leader with over 15 years of experience in managing global restoration initiatives, particularly in dam removal and river restoration. Currently serving as a Nature-based Solutions Senior Project Manager at Stantec, Gwen collaborates across regional and international teams to enhance ecosystem restoration efforts. Previously, as a Senior Programme Manager for the European Open Rivers Programme, Gwen oversaw the distribution of €8.7 million in grants and supported significant river restoration projects across multiple countries. With a solid technical foundation in ecological engineering, Gwen has developed impactful programs and engaged diverse stakeholders throughout their career. Gwen holds a B.S. in Environmental Resource Engineering from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
