Jim Wilson

Senior Archaeologist

Jim Wilson is the Principal and Regional Discipline Leader for Archaeology in Central Canada at Stantec Consulting. They received a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Western University in 1988 and a Master’s degree in Archaeology from McMaster University in 1990. Previously, Jim was the president of archaeologix from 1997 to 2008 and served as the Archaeologist/Planner for the City of London, where they authored Ontario's first GIS-driven archaeological master plan. With over 30 years of experience, Jim specializes in pre-contact Aboriginal and early historic occupations of the Northeast, leading numerous surveys and excavations funded by various organizations. They have lectured at Western University and McMaster University, and they continue to publish and present on the prehistory of Ontario.
