Jonathan Derwent

Jonathan Derwent is a highly experienced Director and Civil and Structural Engineer with a notable history of working on high-profile building projects across various sectors in the South West and nationally. They hold a first-class honours Masters degree in Civil Engineering from UMIST (now University of Manchester) and are double-chartered with both the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institution of Structural Engineers. Jonathan has served as Principal Engineer at Scott Wilson and as Technical Director at Hydrock, leading the Structural Engineering team in Plymouth until Hydrock's acquisition by Stantec, where they currently hold the position of Director. Additionally, Jonathan volunteered as Membership Secretary for the Plymouth Constructing Excellence club for over a decade and frequently engages in public speaking on significant issues in the construction industry.
