Merlyn Forrer has extensive experience in fire engineering, having served in significant roles such as Associate and Senior Associate at Design Fire Consultants from May 2019 to November 2022, overseeing complex design projects and contributing to company-wide initiatives. Prior to this, Merlyn gained valuable experience at Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service from May 2000 to January 2005 and held various positions at Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service, including Station Manager and Fire Protection Manager. Currently, Merlyn is the Director of Fire Engineering (North) at Stantec since April 2025. Educational credentials include a Master of Engineering (MEng Hons) in Fire Engineering from the University of Central Lancashire and an Expert Witness Certificate from Cardiff University, among other diplomas in fire safety and engineering.
