Monir Akan

Monir Akan, MASc., P.Eng., CEM, is a seasoned Building Energy Engineer with extensive expertise in building energy modeling, energy audits, and energy management. Currently employed at Stantec since October 2024, Monir has previously served in various engineering roles, including at Morrison Hershfield and Nadine International Inc. Monir has a hands-on background in mechanical engineering and energy management, with responsibilities ranging from conducting energy audits to implementing maintenance strategies at Weston Foods. Monir holds a Master of Applied Science in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from Toronto Metropolitan University and possesses multiple degrees, including an MBA in Human Resources Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
