Rian Burger is a mature airports architect and thought leader, currently leading Stantec's multi-disciplinary airports design practice based in Toronto. With a career spanning over two decades, Rian has designed and advised on numerous airport facilities across Canada, the USA, and internationally, including major expansions at Denver International and Toronto Pearson Airports. Rian's expertise in design innovation and sustainability has led projects to receive accolades such as the best midsize airport in North America (YVR) and the best airport for air service quality (YYZ). Rian frequently publishes articles on airport design and speaks at industry conferences while also seeking opportunities to mentor students in the field. Rian holds a B.Arch degree from the University of Pretoria, as well as a B.Arch from the University of Cape Town.
