Richard Isted

Richard Isted has extensive experience in transport planning and modelling, beginning with a role as Senior Transport Planner at Cardno from 2006 to 2011, where key responsibilities included transport modelling, traffic microsimulation, discrete choice analysis, and business case preparation. Following this, Richard served as Senior Transport Modeller at Jacobs from 2012 to 2015, focusing on transport strategy, stakeholder consultation, and model design in various software tools. Richard has also held positions as Transport Modeller at the City of Perth, managing traffic model calibration and data analysis, and as Section Leader for WA Transport Planning and Advisory at Jacobs, overseeing project direction and team mentorship. Currently, Richard is the Manager of Transport Planning and Advisory at SMEC, with responsibilities in people and financial management, as well as project management. Since July 2024, Richard has been Group Lead for Transport Advisory at Stantec. Richard holds a degree from The University of Western Australia, completed in 2005.
