Rick Guthrie

Rick Guthrie serves as Vice President and Director of Geohazards and Geomorphology at Stantec, a role encompassing the development of an integrated team focused on terrain mapping, landslide hazard assessments, and geotechnical evaluations. Previous positions include Director of Geohazards and Geomorphology at SNC-Lavalin Inc., where Rick established a specialized team to tackle complex geohazard issues, and Senior Scientist at Hemmera, responsible for business development and team management. Rick's career also includes significant roles as Principal Geoscientist at Gravity Geoscience, Provincial Geomorphologist at the BC Ministry of Environment, and Geomorphologist at the University of Victoria. Academically, Rick holds a PhD in Earth Science with a focus on landslide research from the University of Waterloo, along with relevant credentials from Università degli Studi di Salerno, University of Victoria, and University of Calgary.
