Russell Lavitt

Russell Lavitt, P.Eng. has a diverse background in mechanical engineering and leadership, with significant roles spanning several organizations. From July 2018 to June 2021, Russell served on the Society Board of Directors as the Regional Director for ASHRAE Region XI, which includes Western and Northern Canada, the U.S. Pacific Northwest, and Alaska. Prior to this, Russell worked as a DDC Controls Designer at the University of Manitoba, followed by a lengthy tenure as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at SMS Engineering Ltd. from June 1998 to March 2016. Russell then advanced to Stantec, where roles included Associate, Senior Mechanical Engineer and Principal, all while leading the Mechanical Team for Buildings Engineering in Manitoba and NW Ontario. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, both from the University of Manitoba.
