Sheila Karimi is a Chartered Professional Engineer with over 15 years of experience in structural engineering, primarily in New Zealand. Currently based in Christchurch, they serve as the Technical Director and APAC Service Line Leader at GHD, where they lead multi-discipline design teams to meet client objectives. Sheila has managed large-scale projects involving Low Damage Design systems and has played an active role in the engineering community as the immediate past Chair of the Canterbury branch of Engineering New Zealand. Additionally, they are passionate about promoting diversity and inclusion in the engineering field and currently serve on the boards of Dress for Success Christchurch and Engineering New Zealand.
