Steve Alt

Steve Alt, PE, is a highly experienced professional with over 25 years in membrane separation technology, focusing on desalination and water reuse. Currently serving as the Global Principal Desalination and Reuse at Jacobs, they previously held the position of Desalination Western Regional Technology Leader at the same company from 2011 to 2023. Prior to that, Steve worked as a Senior Project Engineer at SPI, where notable projects included the West Basin Municipal Water District Ocean Water Desalination Demonstration Facility. Their extensive background also includes a role as a Senior Process Engineer at Hydranautics, where they contributed to the development of ultrafiltration membranes. Steve holds a degree from the University of California, San Diego, and remains active in the field through ongoing education.
