Derek Cameron

Derek Cameron has a diverse work experience spanning over 16 years in various industries. Derek currently works as an Engineering Manager/Lead Engineer at Stanwell Corporation Limited since August 2022. Prior to that, they were the Managing Director of Crank It Up Services from October 2013 onwards.

Derek also has experience in the mining industry, having worked at BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance Pty Limited as a Lead Engineer - Asset Engineering from August 2020 to August 2022. Previously, they held multiple roles at BHP, including Commissioning Manager and Manager Commissioning - Coal.

Additionally, Derek has worked at QLD State Emergency Service as a Member from January 2008 to September 2020. Their earlier roles include Handover Superintendent at Transcity Joint Venture (Legacy Way) and Commissioning Manager at BHP Billiton.

Before that, Derek held positions such as Preassembly Manager at Thiess, Completions Manager at Sedgman, and Deputy Alliance Manager - Completions at Dawson CHPP Project. Their work experience showcases their expertise in project management, commissioning, and engineering.

This was followed by their enrollment at a Trade school from 1986 to 1989, where they pursued a degree in Electrical Fitter Mechanic. Derek then attended Technical College from 1991 to 1994, where they obtained a Diploma in Electrical Engineering. Lastly, they pursued a Masters degree in Business and Technology at UNSW from 2000 to 2002.
