Sean Ma

Sean Ma, PhD has extensive work experience in various roles related to quantitative analysis, software development, and renewable energy. Sean is currently working as a Senior Quantitative Analyst at Stanwell Corporation Limited. Prior to this, Sean was a Manager at EY in Brisbane, where they focused on renewable energy, data analysis, and database management. Before that, they worked at Energy Exemplar, where they held multiple roles including Lead Software Modelling Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, and Research, Development, and Support Analyst. In these positions, they were responsible for developing energy market modelling engines, conducting research on power system modelling, providing consulting services, and analyzing energy transition issues. Sean also gained experience as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The Australian National University, where they published papers on plasma temperature and density measurements.

Sean Ma, PhD, obtained their Bachelor of Mechanics degree with a specialization in Materials Joining (Welding) from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2004. Sean also pursued a minor in Computer Science from the same institution from 2001 to 2003. Sean further pursued their education at Harbin Institute of Technology, where they earned their Master's and PhD degrees in Plasma Spectroscopic Diagnostics from 2004 to 2009.
