Eric Hwang

Eric Hwang is a Distinguished Engineer at Starburst Data, where responsibilities include architectural oversight for over 100 engineers and the launch of the world's first Trino SQL infrastructure-as-a-service and a high-throughput data-lake streaming ingestion platform. Prior experience at Facebook spans a decade, leading the AI engineering team for the Facebook Portal device, contributing as a co-founder of the Presto/Trino SQL Engine, and leading real-time ingestion engineering efforts across a vast server deployment. Eric holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
