Michael Reed

Michael Reed has held several positions in the technology and data science fields. Michael began their career in 2011 as a Masters Research Project at Sheffield Hallam University. In this role, they used trajectory analysis and high-speed video to quantify the effect of spin rate decay on a tennis ball over the trajectory of a groundstroke shot. From 2013 to 2015, they worked at QinetiQ as a Data Scientist. During this time, they researched and developed innovative information exploitation solutions within the defence industry and designed large scale, distributed signal processing algorithms. In 2015, they joined Starcount as the Chief Technology Officer and Head of Data Science Engineering. In this role, they led the R&D division of Data Science and designed and built large-scale production-ready machine learning models. Michael also worked for six months at a large financial institution.

Michael Reed obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics with Sports Science from Swansea University between 2008 and 2011. Michael then went on to obtain a Master's Degree in Sports Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University between 2011 and 2012. Additionally, they obtained a Machine Learning certification from Coursera in December 2013 and an Introduction to Data Science certification from Coursera in June 2013.
