Michael Ryan

Michael Ryan is a seasoned transatlanticist with extensive experience in European security and NATO affairs. After a distinguished 25-year career in the US Air Force, where they retired as a Colonel, Ryan joined the Department of Defense's Senior Executive Service in 2007. They have held key positions at the US Mission to NATO, including Director of European Security and Military Advisor to the Secretary of Defense Representative in Europe. Currently, Ryan engages in consultancy and teaching while serving on the board of trustees for Friends of Europe. They earned a Master of Science in International Relations and National Security Studies from Troy State University and hold a Bachelor of Science from the U.S. Air Force Academy.
