Roy Beck

Roy Beck (Barkai) is a Full Professor of Physics and Adjunct Professor of Life Sciences at Tel Aviv University, where they have specialized in biophysics, soft-matter physics, and statistical physics. They have served as a Scientific Advisor at Starget Pharma since 2025 and previously worked as a Moonshot Taker at [google] X from 2022 to 2023. With a strong academic background that includes a PhD in Physics from Tel Aviv University, Roy also has experience as the founder and head of the R&D department at SilverHelm LTD from 2000 to 2001 and as a postdoctoral fellow at UCSB from 2006 to 2010. Their research interests encompass protein interactions, self-assembly of biopolymers, and various scattering techniques.
