Michael Halamicek is an accomplished Electrical and Electronics Engineer with a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, awarded in 2023. Throughout an extensive academic and professional career, Michael has focused on the miniaturization and silicon integration of DC-DC power supplies, developing a primary side driver integrated circuit for isolated class-E resonant converters. Prior to earning the doctorate, Michael served as a Research Assistant at the Advanced Photovoltaics and Devices Research Group, contributing to the characterization of hydrogenated and deuterated amorphous carbon thin films, with results published in reputable journals. Michael's industry experience includes positions as an Analog Design Engineer at StarIC, Senior Power Design and Emulation Engineer at Silanna Semiconductor, and an Analog/Digital Physical Design Intern at Snowbush® IP - Semtech, where contributions to physical design projects included high-speed SerDes and phase-locked loops. Michael holds a Bachelor of Applied Science with Honours in Electrical and Computer Engineering, complemented by a minor in Bioengineering, also from the University of Toronto.
