Valisa Smith is an experienced leader in the nonprofit sector, currently serving as the Executive Director of Start Early Washington since January 2020. Prior to this role, Valisa was the Principal at VMS Consulting from 2011 to January 2020 and served as a Senior Program Officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation from 1999 to 2011. Valisa holds a Master of Arts in Political Science from McGill University (1995-1997) and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Oregon (1990-1994).
