Randolph Kent is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in humanitarian operations and policy development. Currently serving as the Director of Humanitarian Futures since November 2017, Kent oversees initiatives aimed at enhancing humanitarian operational capacities through strategic planning and innovation. In addition, Kent holds dual roles as Director and Senior Research Associate at the Royal United Services Institute and as Visiting Professor at the African Leadership Centre, focusing on security issues and governance impacts of transformative technologies in Africa, respectively. Kent also chairs the Humanitarian Passport Initiative and is an Honorary President of The Start Network, while maintaining membership with the British Red Cross and the Future Humanitarian Financing Initiative. As the former Director of the Humanitarian Futures Programme (2004-2017) and Chairman for the World Humanitarian Summit preparations, Kent has led various collaborations to address complex humanitarian challenges. Kent holds a PhD from The London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor's degree from Trinity College-Hartford.
