Walker Powell

Walker Powell has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Walker most recently worked as a Software Engineer at StartProto starting in June 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Pastry Cook at Evergreen Butcher and Baker starting in August 2021. Walker also gained experience as a Software Development Engineer intern at both Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Amazon in 2020 and 2018 respectively. In 2018, they interned as a Software Development Engineer at Ultimate Software. Before their internships, Walker served as an Undergraduate Researcher at the College of Computing at Georgia Tech from August to December 2017. Walker also worked as a Teaching Assistant and Program Assistant for the Barcelona Study Abroad program during the summer of 2017. Walker's early work experience includes being an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at Georgia Institute of Technology from August 2016 to August 2017, and a Researcher at Intelligent Transportation Systems for Autonomous Vehicles from December 2015 to May 2016.

Walker Powell attended Science Hill High School from 2011 to 2015. During this time, they did not earn a degree or specialize in any particular field of study.

After graduating high school, Walker went on to enroll at the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2015. Walker pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science. Walker completed their undergraduate program in 2020.

In 2019, Walker participated in the Berlin Study Abroad Program Assistant at the College of Computing at Georgia Tech, although the specific field of study for this program is not mentioned.

Apart from their formal education, Walker also obtained several certifications. In 2016, they completed the First Aid CPR AED course from the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association. In July 2015, they obtained the Student Pilot with Solo Endorsement certification from the Federal Aviation Administration. In June 2014, they acquired the Tennessee Boater Education Certificate from the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency. Most recently, in January 2022, Walker earned the Wilderness/Remote Location First Aid certification from NOLS Wilderness Medicine.
