Robert Shelton

Robert Shelton is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in mentoring, leadership, and technical advisory roles. Currently serving as a mentor at Startups Ignite since November 2023, Shelton is committed to supporting startups focused on Global Preservation, Human Empowerment, and Sustainable Business. Previously, Shelton retired from Microsoft in February 2023 after a distinguished career that included roles such as Chief Technical Officer and Director within Microsoft's National Security Group, where oversight of a $700MM vertical and collaboration with key government agencies were primary responsibilities. Shelton's roles at Microsoft also encompassed consulting and educating executives on technology's competitive advantages and organizational efficiency. Prior experience includes a tenure as Sr. Director of Software Development at USATODAY.com, where management of scalable systems was a key focus. Shelton holds a BS in IT/Software Engineering from the University of Phoenix.
