Andrew Lee, MD, PhD, is the Founder of StartX Med, an organization aimed at accelerating high-potential entrepreneurs in the life sciences and medicine, and has served in this role since June 2012. Lee is also the Founder and Managing Director of a joint technology venture between Stanford StartX and the University of California's QB3 Program, focusing on medical and hardware spinouts. Lee's experience includes roles at Y Combinator since 2017, Resident Physician at Stanford Health Care specializing in Clinical Pathology and Cell/Gene Therapy from 2017 to 2021, and a member of the Medical Strategy Team at Apple from 2015 to 2017. Educationally, Lee holds an MD/PhD in Chemical and Systems Biology from Stanford University School of Medicine, with a Bachelor of Science from Yale University in East Asian Studies and Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology. Additionally, Lee has a background as the Founding CEO of Stem Cell Theranostics and as Clinic Manager at the Pacific Free Clinic.
