Alex A.

Alex A. is an accomplished Senior Biostatistician and Software Developer at StataCorp since August 2018, focusing on developing semiparametric likelihood-based models for genetic data and measurement error models for survival analysis. Previously, Alex gained experience as a Summer Intern: Statistical Programmer at StataCorp, where software was created to implement an ordinal mixture model, and as a Statistical Consultant, collaborating on studies measuring hostile educational environments for nursing students. Alex also served as a Technology Teaching Assistant at Texas A&M University, instructing students on technical report writing and experimental design. Early career roles included Hydrogeologist and Project Geologist in Paraguay, as well as teaching Mathematics and Earth Science at multiple educational institutions. Alex holds a Ph.D. in Statistics and a Master’s Degree from Texas A&M University, along with a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Geology from Pomona College.
