Michael Heilen is a PhD anthropologist, senior geospatial analyst, and data scientist currently working in heritage management. Since 2006, they have served as a research director at Statistical Research and have directed the Center for the Study of Cultural Landscapes since 2011. Michael is an active member of the Board of Directors for both the Coalition for Archaeological Synthesis and Digital Antiquity, focusing on the integration of archaeological data with broader disciplines. Their research interests encompass landscape archaeology, spatial analysis, and the impacts of climate change on heritage resources, with numerous publications dedicated to refining archaeological data management and analysis. Michael holds a BA and MA from the University of Chicago and a PhD from the University of Arizona.
