Len Garis

Len Garis is a Research Associate at the Community Health and Social Innovation Hub at the University of the Fraser Valley. Previously, they served as Fire Chief for the City of Surrey and had held various roles in fire services since 1980, including Director of Protective Services in Pitt Meadows and Coordinator/Instructor at the Justice Institute of British Columbia. Len has also contributed as an Associate Scientist at the BC Injury Research and Prevention Unit and has been affiliated with John Jay College as Research Faculty since 2013. Their work has earned significant accolades for enhancing public safety and service delivery through evidence-based innovations.
