Elmie Botha

Elmie Botha is a seasoned professional specializing in health, safety, and wellbeing with extensive experience in various managerial roles. Currently serving as the Team Leader for Health, Safety, and Wellbeing at Stats NZ since February 2020, Elmie provides expert HSW advice and promotes a proactive culture within the organization. Prior to this, Elmie worked as a Safety Manager at Transnet Freight Rail, offering guidance on safety regulations, and held the position of SHERQ Manager at Transnet SOC Ltd, where strategic planning and policy implementation were key responsibilities. Earlier career roles included General Manager at J&E Sheet Metal, as well as multiple positions at Foskor Pty Ltd and Matimba Power Station, where Elmie focused on environmental management and chemical analysis. Elmie holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Management for Operational Risk Managers from DaVinci Institute, along with a National Diploma in Water Care from Technikon Pretoria.
