Paul Bill

Paul Bill has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and web development.

Paul'smost recent role is as a Senior Software Engineer at StatsBomb, starting in February 2021.

Prior to that, Paul worked at Bravissimo from 2016 to 2021, where they served as a Senior Software Engineer Team Lead. Paul led the E-commerce Development Team, managed direct reports across different timezones, and played a key role in delivering the company's online strategic objectives. As the Scrum Master, they led daily standups, sprint changeover/retrospective meetings, and managed stakeholder expectations. Additionally, they were a Full Stack Web Developer at Bravissimo from 2016 to 2018. In this role, they worked with React, Redux, Express, and RethinkDB to build the company's bespoke e-commerce platform. Paul also set up unit tests and integrated them into the CI pipeline, wrote acceptance test criteria, and implemented step definitions for the CI integrated test platform.

Before their time at Bravissimo, Paul worked at Develo Design from 2013 to 2016 as a Full Stack Web Developer. Paul led the front-end strategy for the company and oversaw the transition to modular and scalable JavaScript frameworks (BackboneJs & RequireJs). Paul also automated build tasks and ensured the use of a CSS preprocessor. Paul worked closely with the senior designer and implemented a styleguide driven development strategy for larger projects.

From 2012 to 2013, Paul was a Web Developer at Blitz Games Studios. Paul developed web-based UI using BackboneJs, RequireJs, LESS, and jQuery for the company's tools. Paul also developed and maintained support web applications using PHP and MySQL.

Paul began their career in 2006 as a Web Developer & Designer at 42WebDesign.co.uk. Paul developed e-commerce systems using PHP and MySQL and hand-coded websites to W3C standards using XHTML and CSS. Paul worked on various website design contracts and established a reputation for quality work.

In 2008, Paul worked as a Website Manager at Maurice Robinson Sports. Paul was responsible for the company's online presence, including designing, developing, and maintaining their e-commerce website. Paul also generated new customer leads through blog posts, SEO, and social media integration.

Paul Bill attended Solihull Sixth Form College from 2000 to 2002, where they earned their 3 A levels in IT, Design Technology, and Media Studies. Additionally, they also completed 1 AS level in Medieval History during this time. Following their time at the college, Paul pursued higher education at Oxford Brookes University from 2002 to 2006. There, they earned a degree in Computing and Information Systems with a field of study in Computing.
