John Higgins

John Higgins has a background in Python development and data engineering. John started their career in 2017 as a Junior Python Developer at WHEWELL COMMUNICATIONS LTD., where they worked on building a CRM for Kent Online using ElasticSearch, MySQL, and Flask. In 2018, they joined Orpheus Cyber as a Python Developer, where they gained experience working with a range of technologies including Python, MySQL, RabiitMQ, Linux, Pandas, Flask, Docker, spaCy, Scikit-Learn, and Elasticsearch. John also utilized AWS Lambda, StepFunctions, S3, CloudWatch, SQS, and SMS within the Serverless Framework. Recently, in 2020, they joined SteelEye as a Python Data Engineer, where they focused on building pipelines to extract, transform, enrich, and store financial and conversational data. John also worked on extracting and enriching market tick data from Refinitiv into data warehouses, and engineered solutions for Best Execution and Trade Cost Analysis for millions of trades each month.

John Higgins earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Queen's University in 2014, where they studied from 2011 to 2014. John later pursued an MsC in Software Development at Queen's University Belfast from 2017 to 2018, focusing on Computer Software Engineering.
