Joy Thomas is a Technical Advisor at SteelSky Ventures. Joy has over five years of experience in management consulting, with a focus on process improvement, program management, and human resources outsourcing.

Joy began their career at Booz Allen Hamilton in 2008 as an Associate. In their four years at the company, they rose to the position of Lead Associate, overseeing a team of consultants responsible for human resources outsourcing for a major financial services company. Joy also advised on best practice strategic sourcing during a major shareholder-influenced divestiture.

In 2012, Joy left Booz Allen Hamilton to join Booz & Company as a Senior Associate. At Booz & Company, they set up the Program Management Office for a joint venture initiative between multiple Blue healthcare plans. Joy also developed and initiated objectives, cadence, and 100 Day plan to completion of stand up of the new joint venture company.

In addition to their work with Blue healthcare plans, Joy also documented current-state operating processes for a major financial services client, determined pain points and gaps, and developed future-state process flows including roles and responsibilities, activities and outputs, decision rights, RACIs, and process step justifications. Joy also led the development of the Demand Management and Capacity Planning strategies for a major global industrials client’s European, Middle East, and Africa division in Belgium.

Joy’s work has earned their recognition within the management consulting industry. In 2010, they were named one of Management Consulted’s “Top 30 Under 30” consultants.

Joy Thomas received their field of Economics/Leadership from Georgetown University and their School from University of Virginia. Joy has also received certification from Accenture in Data-led Transformation Masterclass and SAS in SAS Programming.
