Jim Steer is a pioneering transport planner and the Director and Founder of the Steer Group consultancy, which has built a global reputation in transport advisory services. Having established the internationally recognized transport consultancy Steer Davies Gleave, they have played a critical role in key UK transport initiatives over the past four decades, notably in advocating for high-speed rail. Jim's extensive experience includes serving as Managing Director at the Strategic Rail Authority and involvement with HS2 Ltd’s Strategic Challenge Panel. Currently, Jim directs Greengauge21 and writes a column for Transport Times, while actively contributing to the field as Vice President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport.
