Sydney Benjamin

Sydney Benjamin is a consultant at Steer since September 2024, previously serving as the Marketing and Education Manager at the Anthropocene Institute from June 2022 to December 2024, where responsibilities included managing diverse projects in climate and sustainability. Additional experience includes a Fall Internship at Tree San Diego, a Classroom Teacher position at Santee School District, and a Conservation Science Internship with the National Park Service at Cabrillo National Monument, focusing on native vegetation preservation and environmental education. Sydney also held the role of Director of Outreach and Engagement for the Coastalong Music + Sustainability Festival, significantly contributing to sponsorship efforts and social media engagement. Other experiences encompass a position as Herbarium Technician at the University of California, Los Angeles, and earlier internships involving grant writing and outreach. Sydney holds a Master of Philosophy in Anthropocene Studies from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies and Geography/Environmental Studies from UCLA.
